Sexual Assault Specialist

We provide free, confidential, trauma-informed, survivor-centered services for individuals affected by sexual and domestic violence. The Center’s mission is to end violence and oppression for all people.

All new employees with the Center must complete a training curriculum, background check and orientation. All employees are expected to participate in a rotating on-call schedule for 24-hour response. Applicants must have an associate’s or bachelor’s degree or related work experience; valid driver’s license; insured and reliable transportation and willingness to travel; a commitment to and understanding of issues surrounding violence; flexible schedule; and excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills.

The Sexual Abuse Specialist is a full-time position and will be responsible for providing education to adults, schools (pre-school through college), civic organizations, religious groups, employees/employers and others on the topics of violence prevention. In addition, the Specialist will provide advocacy; ongoing support; 24 hour-response; support groups and access to other needed resources in the community to survivors of sexual assault and abuse and their significant others (children and adults).

Crisis Intervention & Advocacy Center serves Adair, Adams, Clarke, Dallas, Decatur, Guthrie, Madison, Ringgold, Taylor and Union counties. The agency provides mobile services and this position will be expected to travel daily. While the position requires frequent, local travel, it will have a main office in Adel and Perry in Dallas County.
