River City Domestic Violence Center Family Connections - Yankton, SD
Responsible for the mission, vision, strategic direction, and overall operations of the domestic violence shelter and visitation center providing organizational leadership with an emphasis on growth of services and programs through fundraising and grants, public education and awareness, and personnel and program management. Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with the laws of the State of South Dakota and consistent with the program personnel policies. Must have the ability to direct and lead in a high stress environment.
Qualified candidates will have knowledge of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking and have at least 10 years of experience in the field. The person in this position will have knowledge of administrative and management principals necessary for directing services, ability to communicate with diverse groups, knowledge of budgeting, personnel procedures, program development and evaluation. This person will also have the ability to function as the chief administrative officer of a non profit corporation under the supervision of a governing board and knowledge of supervisory and staff development. The candidate must demonstrate knowledge of successful fundraising, marketing and development practices.
Fiscal and Grant Management
Responsible for budgeting financial planning, allocation of funds and fiscal management.
Oversee coordination of grant services, including but not limited to writing grant applications reports, reimbursement requests and data management.
Report to the board concerning program activities and client services, prepare written monthly statements to the board to assist the Board Chair in coordination and planning for board meetings.
Planning, execution and control of the programs and services, and implement the goals as outlined by the Board of Directors.
Administrative liaison between the staff and the Board of Directors to provide representation at Board or committee meetings.
Maintain and update program procedures and employee handbook as needed.
Provide board orientation to new board members.
Fundraising and Public Relations
Be the primary representative of RCDVC with the public through public education by developing and maintaining contact with the community through public education, strategic networking and social media.
Develop and foster strong working relationships with government and community agencies, human service professionals, law enforcement, volunteers and other key constituents.
Responsible for all media resources and external communications.
Develop public awareness of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking issues, primarily in South Dakota, but also on a national level and awareness of the programs.
Research, development and implementation of an annual operating budget and audit.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a Human Service related field with administrative experience and at least 10 years experience in increasingly responsible roles in non-profit leadership. Must have demonstrated management, supervision, public relations, fundraising and human service skills and experience. Understanding and strong commitment to the mission, goals and services of the River City Domestic Violence Center are essential.
