CVAD is hiring for Statewide Restitution Coordinator
The Crime Victim Assistance Division of the Iowa Attorney General’s Office (CVAD) is accepting applications for a Statewide Restitution Coordinator position. State classification of this position is Program Planner 3. The core goals of this position are to modernize division restitution practices and increase coordination across state, district, and county agencies to improve how restitution is ordered, collected, tracked, and disbursed. The Restitution Coordinator position manages three key areas of restitution within the Division: 1. Development of Restitution curriculum & training & education of key stakeholders, 2. Coordination and management of all aspects of restitution collection for the crime victim compensation program and, 3. Identification and evaluation of restitution practices to improve access for victims and to ensure all key stakeholders in the restitution process understand and adhere to Iowa law.
The position involves significant paperwork; telephone, electronic and in-person contact with crime victims, law enforcement, state agencies, key stakeholders and service providers; teamwork; and attention to detail. The employee must possess high levels of organization, judgment, prioritization, customer service, written and verbal communication, math computation, and data entry. Experience working in or with the criminal-legal system; with judges, prosecutors, clerks of court and other key stakeholders, as well as with confidential information are desired. Candidate must also have the capability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds who’ve experienced trauma.
